EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-5
VOLVO · Passenger car - Volvo S40/V50
The product poses a risk of injuries because of an insufficient sealing of the PEM (Fuel Pump Electronic Module), which lead to water ingress, internal corrosion and an increased failure frequency. Long term or recurring exposure to salt or wet conditions may lead to internal corrosion in the PEM. Faulty signal from the PEM, to the fuel pump may lead to a too high, a too low or no fuel pressure at all to the engine. As a result the engine can stall.
