EU Safety Gate · Report-2007-8
STANLEY · Hammer with slit for extraction of nails
This product poses a serious risk of injuries because it is made of coarse, grey cast iron with high content of sulphur and phosphorus, graphite and other admixtures which leads to reduced sturdiness and deformation of the fork, which makes the product dangerous for the user as well as for other people standing near by. Cast iron has lower rigidness than high quality carbon steel and the steel intended for production of instruments, which is a precondition for faster scuffing of surfaces, especially in the conditions of continuous exploitation and high stress.
