Schlosserhammer 300 g

The hammer presents risk of injury because:1) During the tests, the handle of the hammer broke directly beneath the head after three blows. An unsuitable type of wood was used. The head of the hammer flew off. 2) The head is made of cast iron rather than the required forged tool steel. Cast iron is coarse-grained and brittle and therefore totally unsuitable for tools, especially hammers. Defects in the material (flaws and cavities) weaken it even more. When the hammer is used the head can shatter or break, and flying fragments can cause irreversible injuries.
