EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-11

IKEA · High chair

The product poses a risk of injuries because a tight fit between seat, crotch restraint and horizontal restraint is not achieved due to an error in adjusting the length of the crotch restraint to each high chair. The crotch restraint prevents a child from slipping out of the high chair and is an important safety feature. One complaint received stating that the crotch restraint was not firmly attached to the seat and horizontal component of the restraint system, and could detach. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14988.
