The product poses a risk of choking because it fails the tensile strength test of the relevant European standard EN 1400-2. When the teat is pulled versus the ring along the major axis, the ring breaks at 84N (minimum limit 90N). Due to the nature of the ring material, it stretches for 83 seconds before it breaks, thereby creating small parts that could cause a baby to choke.
