EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-15
FORD · Passenger car - Axle shaft end of passenger car
The product poses a risk of injuries because of wear within the rear axle, between the axle shafts and the differential pinion shaft. Wearing away of the axle shaft will cause axle noise and a change in the vehicle's handling characteristics may be noticed. In cases of severe wearing, it may be possible for the axle shaft retaining clips to detach, resulting in the axle shafts coming out of the casing, thus causing loss of steering and possible instability.
