EU Safety Gate · Report-2006-28
Unknown · Water yo-yo ball; puffer ball
This product poses a risk of suffocation because during testing, when swung around in the air, the cord stretched to cover a radius of at least 2 metres. It is therefore possible for the cord to wrap itself around a child's neck (two or three times) when swung around in the air and for the ball, or the other counter-weight, to get stuck in this position when the child jerks his/her shoulders. Once it is wrapped around the neck, the elastic cord exerts pressure, partially blocking blood circulation and making it difficult to breathe. Given that elastic adheres to skin and is very strong, it is difficult for children to disentangle themselves. The product does not comply with the Toys Directive.
