GAZEL · Plant protection product - Ethalfluralin (active substance)
The product poses a chemical risk because it contains 136 ppm of N-nitrosamine (N-ethyl-2-methyl-allyl nitrosamine) in the formulated product, corresponding to 388.02 ppm in the technical grade product which bears the nitrosamine. N-nitrosamines are known to be of particular toxicological concern because they can be activated to genotoxic carcinogens. The product does not comply with Directive 91/414/EEC as regards the placing of plant protection products on the market.
