EU Safety Gate · Report-2009-14
Renault · Passenger car
The product poses a risk of fire because the distance between the engine cable harness and the high-pressure pipe of the automated gearbox (Quickshift gearbox) may not be sufficent when the engine is running (engine vibrations). If the high-pressure pipe touches the engine cable harness, it could become eroded, or part of it could be broken through. This can lead to the engine jerking or dying and in extreme cases it could cause a fire.
