The product poses a risk of electric shock because: - adequate protection against accidental contact with live parts is missing, - the metal part of the tray, which collects crumbs, is not earthed and may become live if it is incorrectly inserted in its slot and a fault occurs in the cable insulation, - the flex insulation may suffer damage when wound around the toaster. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard. EN 60335.
