This article poses a serious chemical risk because the plastic foil contains di-isodecyl (DIDP) 24% by weight. According to the Chemicals Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC, the allowed max. for phthalates in toys and childcare articles is 0,1%. The product may come into contact with a child’s lips and mouth and the restricted chemical may get into saliva and can be swallowed. Phthalates may cause harm to an unborn child and possibly pose a risk of impaired fertility. Phthalates have a negative impact on the development of male/female reproductive organs.
