EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-31
Volkswagen · Passenger car - Volkswagen Tiguan
The product poses a risk of fire because: - the earth cable has not always been correctly tightened on the connection of the electric heating element; - the contact resistance on the earth connection of the heating element for the additional air heater can get too high. This can lead to a high heat development in the connection area of this cable and to scorching damage and in the most unfavourable case to a vehicle fire.
