The product poses a chemical risk because it contains 12.1 mg/kg of dimethylfumarate (DMF) in the desiccant bags contained in the shoebox and 0.33 (± 0.02) mg/kg in the black shoelaces. Dimethylfumarate is a substance which is strongly sensitising on contact with the skin, and consumer products containing dimethylfumarate are banned according to Commission Decision 2009/251/EC.
