EU Safety Gate · Report-2007-34

Russell Hobbs · Toaster

This product poses a risk of electric shock because when the product is plugged in but switched off, the heating element is live. The heating element can be touched with the index finger. Whether the heating element is live depends on the position of the plug. The product clearly does not have all-pole disconnection, which is normally standard in toasters. One accident reported. This product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335-1.
