EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-34
SUZUKI · Passenger car - Intercooler outlet pipe in Suzuki Grand Vitara
The product poses a risk of fire due to the inappropriate material of the intercooler outlet pipe insulator. If the insulator is exposed to engine oil for a prolonged period it could swell and slip off from the throttle body due to internal pressure causing an improper ratio of air/fuel mixture. After certain period of usage, the above condition may cause excessive deposition of carbon particulate in DPF that could burn up and result in overheating or melting of DPF. In the worst cases, DPF may catch fire.
