The product poses a chemical risk because the whale contains 28.9 % by weight of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). The blue plastic wrap contains 0.287 % by weight of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and 17.9 % by weight of di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DINP). Phthalates are not allowed to be used as a substance or material in toys and products used for child care in concentration more than 0.1 %. This product does not comply with the Chemicals Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC and the relevant European standard EN-71.
