The product poses a chemical risk because the plastic material in the doll’s face contains 29% by weight of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and 3.9% by weight of dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Also di-isononyl-phthalate (DINP) was found (quantitative determination has not been done). According to the REACH Regulation, the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.
