EU Safety Gate · Report-2008-40
LINKWISE · Recliner and sofa
The product poses a chemical risk and can cause skin irritation due to the presence of dimethylfumarate (DMF). This substance is a fungicide used to combat mould during the monsoon period. The substance is packed in sachets inserted in the arms and/or seats, and/or foam of the recliners and sofas. The dimethylfumarate contained in the sachet may be allergenic depending on the speed of release or the quantity released from the sachet, which then impregnates the leather of the chair. Ten incidents have been reported.
