The products poses a chemical risk because the plasticized material that forms the eyepiece of the binoculars contain 4.94 % of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), 0.14 % of di-“isodecyl” phthalate (DIDP) and 1.00 % of di-“isononyl” phthalate (DINP). According to the Chemical Restrictions Directive 76/769/EEC, certain phthalates in toys are prohibited.
