The product poses a risk of injuries because:- the steel blades could fly off due to wear and tear, ageing or overload;- lawn trimmers generally available to consumers do not have a guard that is thick or large enough to provide adequate protection for this type of heavy cutter.A fatal accident occurred with a similar product. The product does not comply with the Machinery Directive.

Product description
Cutter to be fitted to a lawn trimmer. Instead of a rotating plastic thread, there is a rotating disc with two curved steel blades. It is intended to enable the user to trim branches and bushes rather than to cut grass. It is supplied separately as an accessory; it is not supplied along with the original lawn trimmer. The manufacturer is advertising it as suitable for use with all lawn trimmers.
