The product poses a risk of injuries because the metal chains are subject to high stresses during normal use and can consequently break, ejecting parts at high speed which could hit persons in the vicinity. The operator could also be hit on the leg by ejected parts, as the guards of brush cutting machines are not designed to withstand the kinetic energy of ejected parts of a metal chain. The product does not comply with the Machinery Directive.
