Incorrect steering spindles may have been fitted to the vehicles. As a result, the serration tooth flanks may not be sufficiently deep for the required transmission of power between the steering column and the steering spindle. In the worst-case scenario, the connection between the steering column and the steering spindle may slip, resulting in steering failure.
