The solders in the product have excessive concentrations of lead and cadmium (measured values: up to 73 % and 0.1 % by weight, respectively). The cable has excessive concentrations of lead, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured values: up to 0.24 %, 2.03 %, 2.5 % and 3.36 % by weight, respectively). Lead and cadmium pose a risk to the environment. These phthalates may harm the health by possibly causing damage to the reproductive system.SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation nor with the requirements of the Commission Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive).
