The black plastic in the USB cable, the solders of the battery, on/off button and the printed circuit board (PCB) in the product have excessive concentrations of lead (measured value up to 66.2% by weight respectively). Lead poses a risk to the environment. The plastic material of the USB cable has excessive concentrations of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 1.87% and 1.26% by weight, respectively).DEHP may harm the health of adults and children by possibly causing damage to the reproductive system.SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive), nor with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation.
