EU Safety Gate · Report-2014-004

Pamax · Pianola Allegra

The product poses a risk of burns as the short-circuit of the electrolytic capacitor fitted to the printed circuit board causes overheating of the batteries above the permitted limit. In addition, the warnings required for toys with replaceable batteries are incomplete. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and with the relevant European standard EN 62115. The product also poses a chemical risk due to the excessive level of DEHP in the toy's internal electrical wiring (measured value: up to 8,9%). According to the REACH Regulation the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.
