The plastic material of the black wire contains an excessive amount of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured value 1,3 % by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to their reproductive system. The product contains also short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value 5100 mg/kg). SCCPs remain in the environment and are toxic to aquatic life in low concentrations. They bioaccumulate in humans and animals and thus pose a risk to human health and to the environment.
