The solders on the PCB, engine and the on/off button contains an excessive amount of lead. (measured value up to: 68.9, 72.8 and 67.1 % & by weight respectively). Lead poses a risk to the environment. The black plastic of the USB cable contains an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) ((measured value up to: 2.2 % & by weight)This phthalate may harm the health by causing possible damage to the reproductive system and may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to their reproductive system. The black plastic of the USB cable contains an excessive concentration of short chained chlorinated paraffines SCCP (measured value up to: 2.5 % by weight)SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive) nor with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation.
