A deformed control unit mounting for the trailing axle control unit may be fitted in the vehicles affected. Since the control unit is located in an area exposed to spray, moisture or dirty water may penetrate, which may lead in turn to a short-circuit. This may cause unintentional activation of the trailing axle's steering control, up to the end stop, which may result in loss of control over the vehicle.
