EU Safety Gate · Report-2016-028

Power Base · Switching Quick Charger

The insulation between the primary and secondary windings of the transformer is insufficient and there is a high likelihood of flashover occurring. If flashover occurs, there will be mains voltage on the exposed metal parts for charging the batteries. That means people might get an electric shock if they touch the metal parts. Also, if there are batteries in the charger at the time, the batteries might act violently to the high voltage leading to the risk of a fire. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335.
