Single-pole or partial insertion of a plug is possible leaving the free remaining live pin, or the partially plugged-in pin of the plug, accessible. The plug pins which carry mains electrical current can become exposed during use of the product exposing the user to live parts. It is possible to insert devices which should be earthed into the socket-outlet part of the adapter but the earth circuit continuity is interrupted. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant international standard IEC 60884 and the relevant national standard.
