The product poses a chemical risk due to the presence of bis(2-etylhexyl phthalate) (DEHP) in the toy pendant inside the surprise egg (21.2 %). According to the REACH Regulation the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children. Moreover, the product poses a risk of choking as small elements of the egg capsule can easily be detached and could be swallowed by children. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
