The metal material of the earring releases up to 32.7 µg/cm2/week nickel, exceeding the limit value of 0.5 µg/cm²/week. Nickel is a strong sensitizer and can cause allergic reactions if present in articles that come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin. The metal in the earring contains 1.3 % by weight of cadmium. Cadmium is classified as harmful if swallowed, if inhaled or if in contact with the skin. The metal around the stone contains 7.9 % by weight of lead which should be avoided as it is harmful to human health. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
