EU Safety Gate · Report-2026-11
Renault · RENAULT 5 - R4 E-Tech
A production anomaly at the supplier’s facility may cause delamination of the anode in a battery cell, where electrode material detaches and can damage the current collector and separator, potentially leading to an internal short circuit in the traction battery and resulting in loss of autonomy, inability to recharge, or thermal runaway which could lead to a risk of fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
