EU Safety Gate · Report-2026-18
Opel/Vauxhall · Frontera
Due to a defect in the engine control unit (inverter) in the vehicles equipped with electrified dual-clutch transmission (e-DCT), metal soldering residues could pass into the unit. This can cause internal electric short circuits which can lead to continuous power supply and overheating due to a blocked relay, causing a fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
