EU Safety Gate · Report-2026-26
Renault · Austral
The ABS-ESP control unit may have been incorrectly programmed by the supplier, preventing detected failures from being communicated to the vehicle dashboard. As a result, if the braking control system fails, the driver may not receive a warning that the following functions are unavailable: emergency brake assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability programme (ESP), automatic emergency braking (AEB), hydraulic brake booster (HBB), and hydraulic braking compensation (HBC), increasing the risk of an accident. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
