The wrong software for the power steering control module (PSCM) may have been installed. The steering wheel can perform autonomous movements when the driver attempts to steer, as the electric power steering (EPAS) provides unintended steering assistance. Unintended steering assistance may lead to loss of control over the vehicle while driving and thus to an increased risk of accidents and injuries. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
