The plastic material of the cable has an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured values up to 3%, 2% and 1.7% by weight, respectively). The solders in the product's Printed Circuit Board (PCB) have excessive concentrations of lead (measured value up to 76.4% by weight), while the solder in the remote' PCB have an excessive concentration of cadmium (measured value: 0.37% by weight). DEHP and DBP pose a risk to human health and the environment. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Lead poses a risk to the environment, and cadmium bio-accumulates and poses a risk to the environment. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS 2 Directive) nor with the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) Regulation.
