The rubber in the balloons releases an excessive amount of nitrosatable substances (measured value 12.91 mg/kg), from which nitrosamines can be formed. Nitrosamines can cause cancer if swallowed or through skin contact. A child could be exposed to them if they touch the product or put it in their mouth. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71-12.
